Hola! My name is Julija and I am a passionate nature lover, always striving to live each day as actively as possible. Over the past years, I have practiced many different sports such as swimming, running (triathlon), sport climbing, and hiking. At some point, this led me to realize that physical activity alone is not enough for a truly healthy lifestyle. That was the moment yoga came into my life.
I still remember my first Hatha yoga class in 2015. In the beginning, we simply focused on breathing. I say “simply” because at that time I didn’t yet understand how important it would become for me. The final part of the practice included asanas, even a headstand. As a yoga beginner, I tried to jump into the headstand, but just as quickly as I entered the pose, I fell out of it. My teacher came to me and said: “You should never rush into a pose; instead, go slowly and start with breathing.”
As a very active person, I couldn’t imagine that doing things slowly could actually lead me to advanced poses. But I am persistent, and the very next day I decided I wanted to discover that “secret” and incorporated yoga into my daily routine. The effect on my mind and body was truly amazing, and after all these years I am still impressed by the benefits yoga brings—not only during practice, but also in everyday life.
In 2018, I completed my 200-hour RYT yoga teacher training in Ljubljana (Nataraja Studio), and since then I have been helping others on their yoga journey. I have also had the honor of attending workshops with inspiring teachers such as Jelena Vesic and David Robson in Croatia, as well as Kru Nok in Chiang Mai, each of them adding a unique depth and perspective to my practice and teaching.
Over the years, I have developed a dynamic Vinyasa-style practice, where breath is closely connected with movement. I like to integrate elements of strength into the flow. As every body is different, I also adapt asanas to individuals, so all levels—from beginners to advanced yogis—are welcome in my classes, because yoga truly is for everyone.
If you have any questions or doubts, don’t hesitate to ask me.
See you on the mat.
Namaste.
